Technical Services is comprised of the Engineering Department, Building Standards Department and Public Works Department and coordinates all engineering services, building inspection services, public works services and approvals from external government agencies (M.O.E., M.M.A.H., M.N.R., N.V.C.A., etc.)

• Administration and implementation of the Town’s approved documents and by-laws, such as the Town’s Engineering Standards and Criteria and the Ontario Building Code in accordance with the Town’s Official Plan, Secondary Plans and Master Servicing Plans.
• Infrastructure planning, assessment and asset management – development of municipal infrastructure, construction and replacement programs such as 5 Year Capital Works Program.
• Design of municipal infrastructure including roads, traffic controls, water distribution, storm and sanitary sewerage systems.
• Review of development applications and preparation of comprehensive reports and recommendations to Town Council.
• Liase with the Town’s customers including the public, associations, government agencies, and coordination of Town departments with respect to Engineering, Building Standards and Public Works applications and capital projects.
• Preparation and Administration of Subdivision, Servicing and Site Plan agreements.
• Ensure that building permit applications comply with all applicable law.
• Operation and maintenance of the Town’s infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, water and wastewater collection systems, sewage treatment plants, pumping stations and reservoirs) to ensure compliance with current legislation.
